| Photos here show our cycad soil. Our basic ingredients are pumice, coarse sand (#12), fir wood chips, fir shavings, peat moss, perlite, and a touch of high grade topsoil. We also add dolomite and a slow release Osmocote fertilizer. Be aware, there is no “perfect” single mix or formulae that you have to use. At this website I do give a specific component ratios for a cycad mix. (link below) This soil shown will support most cycads and is quick draining. One ideally might alter it for tropical species like lush Zamia. We sell this cycad mix by the bag for those who don’t have the capacity to make their own.
