For those of you with growing experience, you understand that palms, even monoecious palms, can hybridize. We got in some plants and were told that they were “sapida“. But, looking at them you’ll know they are not pure sapida. Seeds came off a Rhopalostylis sapida seed bearing tree. The dark petioles (brown) and downward flexing leaves show that they are a hybrid – baueri blood. Sorry, but I have no photos of a mature garden tree of this hybrid. They can take part day sun or filtered light in most areas. Cold hardiness will be about 20 degrees F.
