This super popular palm is native to south Florida and Cuba. It gets a very tall trunk with a height of forty feet or more. The crown shaft is long and a prominent green. The base of the trunk is swollen just above the ground. Often, you’ll also see bulging in the mid-trunk. It is a full sun plant and some are growing it in desert areas with success – in full sun. Cold tolerance is like a King Palm, about 25 degrees F. The 1gallon we have are about 18 inches tall in the pot and three to four years old. We also have 15g, 5g and bands. We are hoping to offer larger sizes shortly. There’s a shortage of this species on the California market. Some of the photos below show this species being grown in Southern CA. This size is shippable for mail order.
