This is a medium height, single trunk, crown shafted palm from New Caledonia. There is grows on mountainous slopes. Of the genus, perhaps this species is the easiest for us to grow here in California. It is very sought after and most of the garden photos below are from California. Along the coast, I’d recommend giving this species half day morning sun, a few hours of sun or strong filtered light. Cold hardiness is into the mid to upper twenties F.
In my experience, mature height is usually about 30 feet but it can get a bit taller. Trunks in shade are green, prominently ringed and medium diameter. Leaves are green and pinnate. This size can be mail ordered.
