This desirable species of Ceratozamia is known for its long upright leafs and heavily spined leaf stems. It has a wide habitat distribution from Mexico into Central America. It is the tallest species of the genus and can get to a mature height of well over ten feet to the top of the leaves. Leaflets are stiff and green. Leaf stems are heavily armed and red-brown in color. This species tolerates a bit of sun or does fine with filtered light. But, give it plenty of growing room. Cold hardiness is down to the low 20’s F. The specimen on sale presently in a 15 gallon container and has an 8 inch wide and 9 inch tall caudex. It is garden ready. BTW, the age of this plant is over 15 years.
