This species is from Madagascar and larger than Dypsis leptocheilos below. It has a red, semi-fuzzy crown shaft with a white/silver trunk. Also, it is larger in size with a thicker trunk compared to the Teddy Bear Palm. Also, it’s not quite as cold hardy but can be grown in this locality. Mature heights are 25 feet. It’ll take part or full sun on the coast.
