This is another exotic species that is near impossible to find. It is native to Madagascar, gets to a mature height of about 20 feet, has an 8 inch thick trunk and, most appealing, is the smooth orange colored crown shaft. (see last photo). We have available some 2 gallon plants. It is recommended that you grow this one for a year or two before planting. At one point, orange crush was felt to be Dypsis pululifera. But, that was proven incorrect by taxonomists. It presently has not species name. I’d start it in strong filtered light or slowly acclimate it to some sun. Cold tolerance is probably not much below a freeze. The last photo was taken by TS at RPS.
