This species is quite similar in appearance to E. horridus. It is also from the Eastern Cape region of RSA and has a brilliant blue color when grown in bright sun. Overall size is small over time. Leaves are about four feet long, strongly curved or arching, leaflets are heavily lobed and spiny. Crowns of leaves are compact. This is a full sun species with excellent cold hardiness to the low 20’s F. Remember, in desert areas, give it just a few hours of sun
