Our major focus with the Howea forsteriana has been historically dealing with their usage in landscape. But, this species – The Kentia Palm – is also an excellent house plant. We get calls about obtaining them for hotel lobbies, restaurants, and upscale business offices. Inside the home or facility they tolerate adequate light but don’t demand being in front of a window. Leaves are elegant, dark green and have a gentle arch. Trunks are thin. The squat 15g are interior quality with stretched upward leaves. This is what interior designers seek. These are too tall for mail order. They are in squat 15g pots or 7 gallon pots and 8 to 10 feet tall in their pots. Almost all are multiples with two to three plants per pot. Sorry, but I don’t have any good photos of this palm in an interior application.
