This species is native to Nicaragua and Honduras. It gets a trunk about 3 to 4 feet tall in a century. Leaves are about four to six feet long. Leaflets are stiff and come to a point but have no spines along their margin. Newly emerging leaves are soft, furry and brittle to trauma. We recommend growing this species in part day sun or strong filtered light. Cold tolerance is into the low 20’s F. The 5 gallon size on sale have caudexes of three to four inches.
