This great palm is known for its rusty-brown/red crown shaft that is quite fuzzy to the touch. It therefore has its common name of the Teddy Bear Palm. It is not a huge palm, usually getting up to about twenty-five feet with a six inch thick trunk. Trunk color is silver with prominent rings. Leaf color is green. Right on the coast it takes full sun easily. Far inland would require part day sun or filtered light. Cold tolerance is down to about 25 degrees F. This is one of the most popular palms around. I’m offering our band size on special. This size is quite large for its pot and definitely needs repotting soon.
