NEVER GETS OVER SIX FEET TALL
SHADE PALM – QUITE COLD HARDY
Previously I discussed the trunking form of this species. What I’m showing today is the true dwarf form that never forms a trunk and never gets over six feet tall. It is native to Mexico. It grows in filtered light but can tolerate some sun along the coast. Compared to the trunking form, you’ll note the leaflets are darker green and wider. Blossoms often protrude above the leaves when it’s in flower. Cold hardiness is the upper teens F. It grows great in cooler areas like the SF Bay area. We have only a few 7 gallon plants (shown first five photos below) which we’re putting on sale. These can be mail ordered.
