NEVER OVER FOUR TO FIVE FEE TALL
This exciting new arrival to our nursery offers gardeners a chance to have a Heliconia that doesn’t get to tall or spread too much. Plant heights are typically 3 to 4 feet with blossoms extended above for a foot to 18 inches.l Blossoms are orange with yellow hints. It tolerates coastal sun or part sun. It does need some sun to blossom. Cold tolerance so far is unknown but we suspect it’ll take down to at least a freeze. We just got these in and only have about ten available. We’ve found they survive in coastal areas although may get some leaf burn. This species would not be recommended if you are in a colder interior area.
The garden photos are both care of Flikr, the first by an unknown author and the second by Jnzl’s photos. |
