PURPLE STEMS & BACKS OF LEAVES
FIVE FEET TALL MATURE – FILTERED LIGHT
Alocasia are a group of tropical pants that have diamond or heart shaped leaves. Some like sun, others shade. They are similar to Colocasia. There are over 80 types / hybrids of Alocasia. A. metalhead gets its name from the sheen that the leaves display. This is a A. portora hybrid and gets to a height of about 5 feet and has shiny green-purple leaves with purple backs and stems. Older leaves tend to be green. This species wants filtered light or a bit of sun. It tolerates a freeze. Leaves are upright and it is a very attractive tropical plant. This is the first time we have offered this Alocasia.
