MEDIUM SIZED TROPICAL BUSH
NICELY SIZED LEAVES WITH WIDE SEGMENTS
This medium sized lush tropical tree (some would call it a “bush”) is native to Southern Japan and Korea. It has prominently green leaves which, mature, are about 12 to 18 inches across. It is divided into wide segments in a pinwheel pattern. Each leaf has around eight segments. The leaves are somewhat soft and without pointed or sharp ends. It is an evergreen. This spcies does sucker (clumps) and reaches a mature height of usually around 8 to 15 feet. It prefers filtered light or a bit of sun only. It is not really a plant for full sun – especially if you are far inland. It does tolerate a freeze. Flowering occurs in fall with a cluster of white small flowers that later go one to produce fruit (seeds). The garden photo below is c/o Wikipedia. The 5 gallon on Special are about 3 feet or more tall and some are suckering.
