NEVER OVER SIX TO EIGHT FEET TALL
MINIMAL TRUNK – DIVIDED FAN LEAVES
This dwarf species of Sabal is different than the more commonly seen Sabal Palmetto. It is native to Florida, stretching from the Panhandle down through the peninsula. It forms minimal trunk – one to two meters at most. Leaves are green and have divided segments. Growth rate is slow. Cold tolerance is into the teens F. and they take full sun. They are very difficult to find for sale. These are seedling plants. Figure cold hardiness about 16 degrees F.
