OLDER PLANT WITH FULL SET OF LEAVES

This South African cycad is most known for the color of its cones. Females are red and males are orange or orange-red. The leaflets are often referred to as a type of “Holly Fern” shape. Leaf length mature is about five feet and leaflets are pokeyt. Leaves tend to curve toward the ground. At maturity, these are a medium sized green cycad that doesn’t really form trunk. This species prefers filtered light or a little sun. Cold hardiness is about 22 degrees F. Some of these sizes can be mail ordered. .
