SMALLER SIZE OF PREVIOUSLY SHOWN GINGER
ALPINIA ZERUMBET VARIAGATA
Shell Gingers have long lasting and hanging blossoms that are usually white with hints of yellow or orange. Blossoms are not fragrant like the Kahili Ginger above. But, they last for about a month. Plants like some sun and along the coast can take full sun. They do sucker with a mature height averaging six to seven feet. This variety has green and yellow variegated leaves that are popular with enthusiasts. Also, they prefer ample water.
