DISTINCTIVE VARIEGATED YELLOW & GREEN LEAVES
EASY TO GROW TROPICAL WITH COLORFUL FLOWERS
This is a super popular variety of ginger that blossoms in the summer. It is native to Asia. Blossoms are white with yellow and red throats. Blossoms are not fragrant. Blossoms hang downward compared to the upright blossoms of Hedychium Gingerslike the Kahili Ginger. Mature height of these plants is six to seven feet. The leaves are prominently variegated with lighter green and yellow. Blossoms are long lived, lasting at least a month. Blossoms occur during the summer. I think they do best in part day sun although right on the coast folks grow them in full sun. Cold tolerance is one of the better for ginger, probably the mid-twenties F. The 20 gallons on sale have many canes and are ready to be planted in the ground. They will blossom in no time.
