THE MOST COLD HARDY PALM IN THE WORLD
SUCKERING, SPINES ON THE TRUNK

This palm is known to be the most cold hardy palm in the world. It has a sharply divided fan leaf, somewhat reminiscent of the Lady Palm. Trunks are chunky, get to a few feet tall and are covered randomly with long needle like spines (see photo below). These spines easily pull out from the trunk. When thrown they stick in the Queen Palm trunks. Native to the southern areas of the SE United States, this species can probably go down to zero degrees F. or even a bit lower. Mature heights are about six feet. They grow in filtered light or possibly some sun. We’re putting five gallons on sale.
