Shown below are 3-4 year old juvenile plants of the super rare and hard to find Brahea moorei. The seeds for these plants came from a fruiting tree in San Diego County. They were very slow to germinate. This is is a very small, dwarf species with overall height of four to six feet. Leaves are near fully circular with deeply divided segments. The underside of the leaves are brilliantly white and often you’ll see a white color on the dorsal segment margins. Culturally, you can grow this in strong filtered light, part day sun or possibly full sun along the coast. Cold hardiness is into the low 20’s F. It is very slow growing. The garden photo is c/o PACSOA.
