This very popular Dypsis from Madagascar is usually a suckering palm but occasionally single trunk. It has leaves that are either flat in cross section or droopy with leaflets hanging downwards. Leaves are green. Trunks are silver green with silver crown shafts. It takes full coastal sun and gets to a height of fifteen to twenty feet. Cold hardiness is in the low 20’s F.
