At our website we have an article about these “Gems of the Orient”. Most are clones or varieties of Rhapis excelsa are under six feet mature. They are considered dwarf fan palms. As they don’t make variegated seed/seedlings (this is a genetic mutation which is rarely expressed through seed), the only way to get one is to get divisions off a larger plant. We have an assortment of sizes and are putting our one and some 2 gallons on sale. These can be mail ordered. They grow inside the home or in filtered light outdoors and are fairly cold hardy. The first photo shows the leaf of an older, mature plant. Of note, we have 1 gallon to 20 gallon plants for sale. The plants on sale are small with some vertical trunk on some. All are from divisions off a mother plant. Please note these are near impossible to find.
