There is very little information available on this rare cycad from the states of Hidalgo and Queretaro, Mexico. It rarely forms a trunk taller than two feet and has reflexed leaves that emerge and are green and about six feet long. It is described as a “prickly” cycad. Leaf stems are armed. Most importantly, leaflets are green and quite narrow. This is an understory cycad cold tolerancet into the low 20’s F. and for filtered light. The specimen on sale is in a 24 inch box, 20 to 25 years old and has primary caudex that is 9 x 12 inches with about a 7 inch pup.
