SUCKERING, SEMI-DWARF FAN PALM
VERY COLD HARDY, SUN LOVING
This suckering fan palm is native to the southeastern gulf states of the U.S. and some adjacent island areas. Native habitats even extend up into the Carolinas. It gets to a mature height of six to eight feet. It loves sun and heat. Leaf color varies from blue to green or somewhere in-between. The plants on sale today are in 2 gallon pots and nicely sized. We do have larger sizes as well. It is a slow growing species and has smaller sized leaves. It forms a clump over time. The plants on special are about four years old. Of note, young plants never show blue – but in the sun outdoors, blue may appear. Cold hardiness is into the upper teens F. The last row of photos show plants in gardens or habitat. BTW, these 2 gallon plants can be easily shipped within the U.S.
