BLUE TO BLUE-GREEN CYCAD WITH FULL HEAD OF LEAVES
JUST AVAILABLE – A FEW JUVENILE PLANTS
This is another super rare and sought after species of cycad. Macrozamia macdonnellii is from the Northern Territory, Australia where it’s natural habitat tends to be dry and rugged. It is often seen in gullies in the local landscape. It is a medium sized cycad with blue or blue-green leaves with fine leaflets. Leaf lenth can be up to a few meters long. Trunks tend to be stout. It wants full sun except perhaps in desert areas. Cold hardiness should be down to about 20 degrees F. Seeds are essentially non-available except from a domestic collector who has both sexes. We just got in two such juvenile plants from such a collector. They’ll be gone quickly. We haven’t had this species for sale for several years. The two plants we have are in one gallon pots and are shippable. We only have this species available in any size every few years.
