ENCEPHALARTOS NATALENSIS MEDIUM SIZED GREEN CYCAD

NATIVE TO SOUTH AFRICA

This is a South African cycad species that has green leaves and makes a medium sized
adult plant. By this I mean you, over several decades, will get a plant with perhaps 4 feet of
trunk. It’s crown width is about 8 feet. It likes full sun and heat unless you are in a desert
locality. It is a quick grower and has cold tolerance to the low 20’s F. It can go even to lower temperatures if you give it some cold protection. It is also known to be a reliable and relatively fast growing cycad. This is a mainstay species for any cycad garden.
