GREEN LEAVES – TOLERATES COASTAL SUN
This popular type of fan palm native to Hawaii is easy to grow and typically, over many years, will get to a height of about twenty feet. We are growing at least five or six species that have gotten huge in 25 gallon pots. Leaves are usually green but there is a blue-leafed form. Trunk diameter is about 8 to 10 inches. Leaves are palmate with a bit of wave in the cross section.
Along the coast they’ll take full sun. Inland areas should try morning sun or strong filtered light. Cold tolerance is into the upper twenties F. Some of the 25g we have shown here is about 12 feet tall in the pot and at least 12 years old. I’d estimate some of them are the size of a 36 inch boxed plant. They are all too big for mail orders but could be delivered. We have limited numbers available. The first four photos show one of these beauties and the other photos are garden pictures. Remember to mention this Special at the time of purchase.
