THE HIGH PLATEAU COCONUT PALM
RARE AND DIFFERENT MADAGASCAR PALM
Native to Madagascar, this recently discovered species is single trunk, gets to at least 40 feet in many decades and has surprising cold hardiness to the low 20’s F. Leaves are pinnate. It takes full sun in most areas. The common name comes from it’s resemblance to the true Coconut Palm. Leaves are green and not armed. Growth rate is rather fast. Habitat photo by TS RPS.
