This is an attractive, suckering, thin trunked palm species is from Madagascar or surrounding areas. The number one reason people buy this species is “to hide something”. By this, I mean they want to hide a neighbor, an ugly next door structure, an unsightly fence, the side of a garage, etc. This is an ideal species for this purpose as it suckers and is fairly dense. You can’t see through it well. Mature height averages 14 feet in California. Cold hardiness is into the mid-twenties F. Trunk diameter is about 3 inches. It’ll take full sun along the coast and far inland areas must give it only morning or filtered sun. These 15g are 6 feet tall in their pots. We have limited numbers available. These will be the first Areca Palms available with any size for months.
