This very striking plant has keeled large black leaves held in an upright fashion and cupped as if they could hold water. Mature height is about head height. It tolerates sun or part sun and is cold hardy probably into the mid-twenties F. Colocasia tend to go dormant during the winter so back off on watering. Severe cold can damper new growth in the spring.
