This fairly newly named species is native to the Chiapas area of Mexico. It is single trunk and, for a Chamaedorea, has a rather thick two inch trunk. Leaves are green and leathery. Leaflets are wide and leaves arch. Mature height is 8 to 10 feet. It looks nicely planted in a small colony of two or three plants. It’ll tolerate coastal sun or part sun. Cold tolerance is 25 to 27 degrees F. Interestingly, it was named after a palm enthusiast here in Southern CA. Below, the band size is shown first followed by the 5g size.
