PLUMOSE LEAVES – NOT AS TALL AS A QUEEN PALM
AND A MUCH THINNER TRUNK
This species of single trunk pinnate palm is native to Brazil and can get to heights of fifty to sixty feet. It can be grown in Southern California and is a smaller version of the Queen Palm with a thinner trunk. Leaves are green and plumose. It wants full sun and is cold hardy into the mid to upper 20’s F. One special are nice 5 gallon plants, still with their juvenile foliage. This species should grow fairly fast and fill have classic pinnate leaves in the next one or two leaf throws. The 8th photo is by the late John DeMott and that last photo by TS at RPS.
