MEDIUM MATURE HEIGHT – COLD HARDY INTO MID-TWENTIES
THREE SIDED CROWN SHAFT – LOVES HOT SUN
This Madagascar palm is known as the “Triangle Palm” because the crown shaft has three flat sides. It gets to a mature height of about 22 feet in 3 decades. It loves heat and sun. Leaves are a gray-green color and there is prominent speckling in the inner crown with dark colors. It is slow growing. It has a cold tolerance of about 24 degrees F. Be aware that this palm doesn’t do well in shade and doesn’t want to be shaded out by overhead trees. The band sized seedlings are quite large for their pots and need to be repotted into a 5 gallon container. Easy to mail order.
