THE CARDBOARD CYCAD
COMPACT GREEN DWARF CYCAD WITH NO SPINES
This popular dwarf cycad is from Mexico and rarely gets over four feet tall. Mature, thihs species typically reaches a height of three to four feet. Plants do cluster and form low profile clumps. Stems can get typically to about 12 inches although taller stems are seen in the wild. Leaves are almost always under 36 inches long with a plant height rarely over about five feet. Leaflets are wide, short and have no spines or armor. This is a very user-friendly plant. It tolerates full sun along the coast and needs filtered light in the desert. Cold hardiness is into the low 20’s F, perhaps a bit lower.
We’re offering here a mature specimen cycad with many heads of leaves. It has five or maybe six individual caudexes. Each caudex is an estimated 4 inches. It’s holding about 30 leaves.
You must mention this Blog only special when purchasing to get this price. BTW, I’d estimate that this plant will be the size of the 8th photo below in several years. |
