VERY PLUMOSE LEAVES
HARD TO FIND BUT NICE JUVENILE PLANTS AVAILABLE
This is one of the prettiest Syagrus you can buy. It gets its common name from the fact that the leaves are very plumose (multi-ranked or fluffy), resembling the Foxtail Palm. As the photographs show, the trunk is thin for the height of this palm. And it is prominently ringed. Mature height can be 50 feet or more. It is native to about six countries in the northern part of South America. It prefers full sun once acclimated and is cold tolerant down to the mid-twenties F. We have available a limited number of very nice one gallon plant as shown below. We are putting them on Special. The last photo is c/o TS at RPS.
